About

Your time is valuable. With us looking after your finances, from payroll to VAT returns, we can free you up to do what you do best. We have over 30 years’ experience. We’re fully up-to-date with what you need for digital tax, and are registered with the HMRC for anti money-laundering.

Forest Bookkeeping was established by Sean Buckley in 2014, after Sean decided the time was right to offer his services to a wider field. From exporting agricultural machinery to selling wool cloth to Savile Row, Sean has over 30 years’ experience of bookkeeping and accountancy in companies requiring complex financial documentation.

“I can personally recommend Sean Buckley most highly due to his diligence, competence and the manner in which he always approached the job in hand. He has an easy and relaxed attitude which belies the undoubted ability that he possesses.”

We don’t just crunch numbers – we become a member of your team.

From the clay tablets of Mesopotamia that recorded crop growth and herd counts to the
Egyptians keeping track of goods exchanged, taxes collected, and temple donations,
bookkeeping has always been at the foundation of business and trading.
The Greeks improved bookkeeping methods by using a more systematic approach to
financial transactions and the Romans after them developed even more sophisticated
systems.

When Italian city states began practising double-entry bookkeeping in the 13th century,
merchants used this method to keep more accurate records of their transactions since they
could detail both credits and debits.
Bookkeeping practices developed through the Renaissance, the Industrial Revolution and
the 20th century’s technological advances to our era of Digital Transformation where we
have what was unimaginable to our grandparents – Cloud Computing, mobile technology,
artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML).

But guess what – it’s all still based on good old diligent record keeping and accurate math in
line with business best practices and timely submissions. The tools may have changed, but
Bookkeepers are still that special breed who keep the sums humming so businesses can
flourish.

At Forest Bookkeeping, we provide hands-on financial support to small businesses, sole
traders, and contractors. From day-to-day bookkeeping and payroll to self assessment
returns and year-end filing, our goal is to help you stay in control of your finances so you can
make confident decisions, every day.
